Sports Coordinator

FACTS
Responsible for:	All Sports team members, the overall running of all Sports events on campus.
Liaises with:	Students’ Union managers, University officials, Sports Centre officials, Sports Clubs.
Date recruited:	Week 1 of Term 3

BRIEF:
The Sports coordinator chairs the Sports meetings and takes full responsibility for every Sports event held on campus. This role requires large amounts of planning and coordination from an early stage and during the Week itself is both demanding and engaging. He/she coordinates a team to produce a varied and diverse Sports programme in a variety of different venues. The sports element is ever growing and the Sports Coordinator has the chance to create a spectacular programme by offering the traditional sports as well as the slightly more unorthodox and creative events – like Sumo wrestling, rodeo bull riding or Panna/nutmeg.

EXAMPLE TASKS:
- addressing the entire Union or a field full of participants/guests - multiple meetings with Sports Centre officials - dealing with sports personalities and sponsors - effective communication on a large campus

CRITERIA FOR RECRUITMENT:
Past OWW Sports experience is helpful, commitment to OWW, high levels of energy and enthusiasm, team leadership qualities an acute knowledge of the Sports Centre, past knowledge of the events, forward vision to expand the Sports element is also a must.
